Oregon’s talented tight end Colt Lyerla is expected to play this Saturday against Cal. He missed the last game due to an illness but there was speculation that there may be more to his absence. Coach Helfrich claimed that his absence was due to “circumstances.”
Fantasy Outlook: If you have read my Top TE Rankings from the summer, you would notice that Lyerla is my top choice. Now, he hasn’t panned out to be the top TE so far but he has all the talent to do so and is in an offense that like to use him in multiple ways. Getting into conference play may benefit Lyerla more because he may be in the game longer due to the other team being within 30 points at halftime. Expect him to assume the starting role at tight end even though backup Johnny Mundt did well filling in.
